Plan an engaging attendee experience

Use clear access, useful communication, networking, interaction, and feedback throughout your event.

A good attendee experience is easy to enter, easy to navigate, and clear about what happens next. Use this checklist to choose the HeySummit tools that support your event rather than turning on every feature by default.

Make access and navigation clear

  • Test registration and ticket access with the same route your attendees will use.

  • Keep ticket names, event-page links, session times, and replay availability specific.

  • Provide an event support email so attendees know where to ask event-specific questions.

Help attendees connect

If the Event Lobby and Attendee Directory are included in your plan, decide whether attendees can appear in the directory and send direct messages. You can also schedule dedicated networking sessions and let speakers or sponsors receive messages through their own inboxes. See Set up attendee networking for your event.

Add interaction where it helps the session

Keep communication useful

  • Review the total number of reminders an attendee could receive, especially when they are registered for many talks.

  • Use a recognisable sender name and reply-to address, and explain which inbox handles event questions.

  • Test important emails, links, and attendee states before the event starts.

Learn from the event

Use Adding Feedback Questions for simple yes-or-no prompts, then combine those results with attendee, talk, and engagement reports to decide what to improve next.
