Adding Feedback Questions

Written by Benjamin Dell

Use feedback prompts to ask attendees short questions during your event and review the answers from your event dashboard. Prompts can appear on a specific date, during a time window, or after a selected talk has finished.

Create a feedback prompt

  1. Open your event dashboard.

  2. Go to Reporting > Feedback.

  3. Select Add.

  4. Enter the question attendees should see. You can also add a short description if the question needs extra context.

  5. Choose the response format: Yes / No, Text, Multiple Choice, or Rating. For multiple choice prompts, add one answer option per line. For rating prompts, choose a maximum rating between 2 and 10.

  6. Choose when the prompt should appear: Date, Time Window, or After Talk.

  7. If needed, restrict the prompt to attendees with specific tickets and make sure Active? is enabled.

  8. Save the prompt.

When attendees see the prompt

Eligible attendees see the prompt as a small feedback banner on the event site. HeySummit shows the first active prompt that the attendee has not already answered and that matches the prompt's timing and ticket rules.

  • Date prompts appear on the selected event-local date.

  • Time Window prompts appear between the selected start and end times.

  • After Talk prompts appear after the selected talk has finished, and only for attendees registered for that talk.

  • If you choose specific tickets, only attendees assigned one of those tickets are eligible to see the prompt.

Review responses

Go back to Reporting > Feedback and select Results on a prompt. The results sidebar shows response totals, response progress, and the summary that matches the prompt type, such as yes/no percentages, rating distribution, multiple choice counts, or recent text answers.
