Understand video file limits for pre-recorded talks and replays

Learn where video upload and playback limits come from when you use hosted video with HeySummit.

Written by Benjamin Dell

HeySummit does not upload or store the video file when you add a pre-recorded talk or replay. You choose a video source, then paste the provider URL, video ID, direct video URL, or embed code that the selected source expects. Because the file stays with your video provider, upload, storage, processing, and playback limits come from that provider and your account with them rather than from a HeySummit file-size limit.

What to check

  • Check your video provider's current upload, storage, duration, and playback limits.

  • Make sure the video is available to the people who should watch it. Private, password-protected, domain-restricted, or sign-in-only videos may not play for attendees.

  • In HeySummit, choose the matching video source and paste the value requested by that source.

  • Preview the talk while signed out before your event so you can confirm that the video loads for an attendee.
