Add a Spotlightr video to a talk

Use a Spotlightr-hosted video for a pre-recorded talk or replay.

Written by Holly

You can use a Spotlightr-hosted video for a pre-recorded talk or as a replay. HeySummit accepts the Spotlightr Watch Page URL or the video ID, so you do not need to edit embed code.

Get the Spotlightr video link

  1. Open the video in your Spotlightr project.

  2. Select Publish, then open the Watch Page tab.

  3. Copy the Watch Page link. Spotlightr's sharing guide shows the current provider steps.

  4. Make sure the video has finished processing and its Watch Page is enabled and viewable outside your Spotlightr account. Spotlightr’s allowed-domain restrictions apply to embed codes, not direct Watch Page links. HeySummit’s named Spotlightr source uses a Watch Page player. See Spotlightr playback troubleshooting.

Add the video in HeySummit

  1. In your event dashboard, go to Content & Schedule > Sessions.

  2. Open the session's Actions menu and choose Manage Session.

  3. For a pre-recorded session, open Broadcast and set Broadcast Type to Pre-recorded. For a separate replay, open Replay, keep Will There Be a Replay? set to Yes, and select Choose another if a broadcast recording is already being used.

  4. Choose Spotlightr as the provider.

  5. Paste the full Watch Page URL or the video ID, then select Save and Close.

Test the video

Use the session’s Preview action and select the relevant pre-recorded or replay view. Confirm the video loads and plays while signed in as an event team member. Check the normal session page separately with an existing authorised attendee: organiser preview can bypass HeySummit ticket checks and scheduled seeking. Provider access settings still apply. If it does not, recheck the Spotlightr link, processing status, and playback permissions. For the full HeySummit workflow, see Set up a pre-recorded talk and Preview a talk page before your event.
