Moderate chat, Q&A, and polls during a talk

Choose moderators, open the live interaction tools, and review transcripts after a talk.

Written by Benjamin Dell

Use the talk's Broadcast View to manage live chat, Q&A, and polls while attendees are watching. Event owners and team members receive moderation access; ordinary attendees, speakers, and hosts can participate but do not automatically receive the same moderation controls.

Choose who can moderate

  • Invite a team member when they need to moderate across your event.

  • To promote specific registered attendees, add their email addresses under Event Setup > Talk & Replay Experience > Attendee Emails to Auto-Promote as Moderators.

  • Use Require Q&A Approval? in the same settings area when questions should stay hidden until a moderator approves them.

Open the live interaction tools

  1. Go to Content > Talks and preview the talk you want to moderate.

  2. Choose Broadcast View from the preview banner.

  3. Open the Chat, Q&A, or Polls tab and use the moderation controls available for that room.

After the talk

Chat and Q&A become read-only after the broadcast finishes. From Content > Talks, use Chat Transcript or Manage Polls. The talk reports also provide exports for chat, Q&A, and poll results.

For event-wide access to live interaction tools, see Access Audience Tools from your event dashboard.
