Remove speakers from an event

Delete one, several, or all event speakers and understand what happens to linked talks.

Written by Benjamin Dell

Deleting an event speaker is permanent. Any talks linked to that speaker stay in the event, but the speaker is removed from those talks. You can assign another speaker afterwards, and you do not need to cancel the talks before deleting the speaker.

Before you delete speakers

  • Review the linked-talk count shown for each speaker and note any talks that will need another speaker.

  • Copy or export any speaker details you may need later. A deleted event speaker cannot be restored automatically.

Delete one speaker

  1. From the event dashboard, go to Content > Speakers.

  2. Open the speaker's actions menu and select Delete.

  3. Review the confirmation, including the number of linked talks, then select Delete.

Delete several or all speakers

  • To delete several speakers, select the checkbox beside each speaker, open Bulk Actions, and choose Delete Selected.

  • To remove every speaker from the event, open the page actions menu and choose Delete All.

Both actions show an irreversible-deletion warning. After deletion, return to the talk list and assign replacement speakers where needed.
