Use the Attendee Map component when you want an event page to show where your event community is joining from. The map uses approximate location data and is designed to protect attendee privacy.
Before you start
The map is added from the Page Builder, so use it on pages that you can edit with Edit Page.
Locations are estimated from attendee registration IP data. Exact addresses and IP addresses are not shown on the map.
When you add the component, HeySummit may need a few minutes to prepare location data for existing attendees.
New attendee locations are kept up to date after the component has been added.
Add the map component
Open the event page you want to edit while signed in as an event organiser.
Select Edit Page.
Open the Components tab in the Page Builder side panel.
In Dynamic Content, add Attendee Map to the page.
Select the map block and open Properties.
Choose the Map mode that matches what you want attendees to see.
Choose a map mode
Anonymous attendee locations is the default. It shows location markers without attendee names or attendee totals. Small city groups are shown at a broader region or country level.
Named attendees only names attendees who explicitly opt in from their attendee profile. Attendees who do not opt in are not named on the map.
What attendees can control
If you use named mode, attendees can choose whether their name and approximate city appear on the map from their attendee profile. This consent is separate from the attendee directory. Turning on a named map does not automatically list every attendee by name.
If the map is empty or preparing
A new map can show a preparing message while HeySummit initializes location data for the event.
If there are no resolved attendee locations yet, the map shows an empty state until eligible attendee data is available.
If location preparation pauses or fails, the Page Builder preview explains the state so you know whether to wait or contact support.
For general Page Builder controls, see Add and format landing page components.
