Use Google Drive as the video source when your pre-recorded talk file is hosted in Drive. HeySummit stores the Google Drive file ID for the talk, so the most reliable approach is to copy the Drive share link, identify the file ID, and paste that ID into the pre-recorded video field.
1. Copy the Google Drive link
In Google Drive, open or select the video file you want to use, then choose Share or Copy link.
Before using the file in HeySummit, confirm that the Drive sharing settings allow the audience you expect to view the video. Google Drive lets you choose who can access a file and whether they are a viewer, commenter, or editor.
2. Find the file ID
The file ID is the unique string after https://drive.google.com/file/d/ and before the next slash.
For example, in this link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ypbHKYXiHErb1rmlKgo47cZ2FvPUfJsQ/view?usp=drive_link
The file ID is:
1ypbHKYXiHErb1rmlKgo47cZ2FvPUfJsQ
3. Add it to your pre-recorded talk
In HeySummit, edit the talk, choose Google Drive as the pre-recorded video provider, then paste the file ID into the video field. You can also paste the full Google Drive link; HeySummit will save the file ID from supported Drive links.
For the full pre-recorded talk setup flow, see Uploading a pre-recorded talk.
4. Preview the video
After saving, preview the talk to confirm the video loads for attendees. If the video does not appear, check that the value in HeySummit is only the Drive file ID, then review the file's Google Drive sharing access.
