Check your Zoom talk timezone

Written by Benjamin Dell

HeySummit sends the event timezone to Zoom when it creates or updates Zoom webinars and meetings. If a Zoom talk appears in the wrong timezone, check the event timezone and then resync or update the talk.

Check the event timezone

In HeySummit, go to Event Setup > Settings > Localization and confirm that the event timezone is correct. This timezone controls how HeySummit schedules the talk and what timezone is sent to Zoom.

Update the Zoom session

If you changed the event timezone after creating the Zoom session, open the talk in HeySummit and save or update the webinar/session again so the current talk details are sent to Zoom.

What attendees see

HeySummit event pages adjust talk times for the person viewing the event. Calendar files and external webinar platforms may also display times using the viewer's own calendar or account timezone settings.

Zoom email notifications

If you do not want Zoom to send separate reminders with its own wording or timezone display, manage Zoom notification settings in your Zoom account. HeySummit can send event email reminders separately.
