HeySummit does not automatically exchange one ticket for another or credit the price of a previous ticket toward a new one. If an attendee buys a second, higher-priced ticket, that new ticket is treated as a separate purchase.
For example, if an attendee bought a £10 ticket and later buys a £100 ticket, they are charged for the £100 ticket as a new transaction. The original £10 ticket is not automatically refunded or deducted from the second purchase.
How the attendee can buy another ticket
Attendees who already registered can browse and buy other available ticket types without repeating the full registration flow. They can do this from the event while logged in, or you can share a direct ticket-browsing link with them.
To share the ticket browsing sidebar, go to Revenue > Tickets and copy the attendee ticket browsing URL. You can then send that link by email or another channel.
Ways to handle the original ticket
If you want to give the attendee their original ticket money back, issue a refund for the original ticket. See How to Issue Refunds From Your HeySummit Account.
If you want to discount the second ticket instead, create a coupon for the attendee to use on the new purchase. Coupons can use either a percentage discount or a fixed discount amount. See Adding a Coupon.
Affiliate attribution
If the attendee first arrived through an affiliate link and later buys another ticket in the same tracked journey, the later purchase may still be attributed to that affiliate. Check your affiliate and sales reports when reviewing upgrade purchases.
