Limit when and where a coupon can be used

Set redemption limits, dates, ticket eligibility, and dashboard visibility for an event coupon.

Written by Benjamin Dell

After creating a coupon, use its availability and settings fields to control how many times it can be redeemed, when it works, which tickets it applies to, and where it is shown.

Limit total redemptions

  • Number of Coupons Available is the total number of successful uses for that coupon code. It is not a per-attendee limit.

  • Leave the field blank if the coupon can be used an unlimited number of times.

  • When the number of uses reaches the limit, HeySummit treats the coupon as expired.

  • For a personal one-use discount, create a separate coupon and set the limit to 1. If several people share one code, every successful use counts toward the same total.

Choose when and where it works

  • Use Active From and Active To to limit the coupon to specific event dates. Leave either field blank when that side of the date range should remain open.

  • Use Restrict To Specific Tickets? when the discount should apply only to selected tickets.

  • Promote to Ticket Holders? is different: it can show an upgrade offer to attendees who already hold selected tickets. If you use this option, also choose the tickets the coupon can discount under Restrict To Specific Tickets?.

Control visibility

  • Turn Is Active? off when the coupon should stop working immediately.

  • Show to Speakers? makes the coupon available in Speaker Dashboards.

  • Show to Affiliates? makes the coupon available in Affiliate Dashboards.

  • These visibility settings do not make a shared code personal to one speaker or affiliate. Anyone who receives a valid code can use it while its other limits allow.
