Add on-demand videos to your event

Written by Benjamin Dell

Use this workflow when you want a talk recording to be available from your event's replay library instead of running a live or scheduled broadcast.

For a standard scheduled event, upcoming talks appear under Schedule. Talks that are in the past and have replay content available can appear under Replays, unless replays have been disabled for that talk. If you want a video to be available as soon as your event is published or open for registration, set the talk up as replay/on-demand content and make sure its publish or talk date is not in the future.

  1. Go to Content > Talks in your event dashboard, then create a new talk or edit the talk you want to make available on demand.

  2. On the Broadcast step, choose No Broadcast under Advanced Options if there will not be a live broadcast for this talk.

Choosing No Broadcast for a talk

  1. On the Replay step, choose the replay provider and paste the replay video URL, video ID, or embed code requested by that provider.

Adding replay video details for a talk

  1. Complete the talk details. For a standard event, choose a date and time in the past if the replay should be available now. For an on-demand or library-style event, use the option that makes the talk available now instead of choosing a future go-live date.

  2. Save the talk, then use Preview and select Replay View to confirm the video plays correctly. On on-demand events, the preview option may be labelled Content View.

When to use Pre-Recorded instead

Choose Pre-Recorded as the broadcast type when you want the video to play at a scheduled time as the talk's broadcast, with the normal broadcast experience. Choose No Broadcast when the talk is only meant to be watched from the replay or on-demand library.
