Change your event dates

Written by Benjamin Dell

HeySummit normally sets your event start and end dates from your scheduled talks. In most cases, changing the dates of your event means changing the dates of the talks in that event.

Change a single talk date

  1. Open your event dashboard.

  2. Go to Content > Talks.

  3. Open the ... menu next to the talk and choose Manage Talk.

  4. On the talk details, update the talk date and time.

  5. Save the talk.

When Auto Set Start & End Dates? is turned on, HeySummit updates the event start date from the earliest active talk date and the event end date from the latest active talk date.

Move the whole schedule

If you need to move every scheduled talk by the same amount, use Shift Talk Start Times from the talks list. Choose the new start date and time for your earliest talk, and HeySummit shifts the other scheduled talks by the same difference so the spacing between talks stays the same.

If a talk has already finished

If a talk is already marked as finished and you need to run it again, open the talk's Advanced Settings and use Reset Talk before setting the new date.

Manually set event start and end dates

Only set event start and end dates manually when you have a specific reason not to use talk dates.

  1. Go to Event Setup > Update Event Settings.

  2. In Event Dates, turn off Auto Set Start & End Dates?.

  3. Enter both a Start Date and an End Date.

  4. Save the event settings.

Event dates affect areas such as event status, schedule visibility, ticket timing, and emails that are based on the event start or end date. If you manually override the event dates, review any scheduled emails and date-based settings to make sure they still line up.
