HeySummit automatically creates social sharing images for your event, speakers, and talks. You can replace those generated images with your own custom promo images when you want more control over what appears on social media or in your promotional assets.
For best results, upload images at 1200x628 so they display well on social platforms.
Event Primary Promo Image
The Primary Promo Image is used when someone shares your main event landing page. HeySummit generates one from your event branding and content, and you can preview it from Promoting > Media Assets, then the Generated Images tab.
To upload your own event promo image:
Go to Event Setup > Settings.
Open Branding & Content > Update.
Click Browse next to Primary Promo Image and choose your image.
Save your changes.
Global Speaker/Talk Promo Image
The Global Speaker/Talk Promo Image is used for speaker and talk pages when you want the same custom image across all speakers and talks. It replaces the individual generated speaker and talk images unless you upload a more specific image on an individual speaker or talk.
To upload a global speaker/talk image:
Go to Event Setup > Settings.
Open Branding & Content > Update.
Click Browse next to Global Speaker/Talk Promo Image and choose your image.
Save your changes.
Individual Talk Promo Images
To override the promo image for one talk only:
Go to Content > Talks.
Open the talk you want to edit.
Go to the Media step.
Upload your image in the Social Sharing Image field.
Save your changes.
Individual Speaker Promo Images
To override the promo image for one speaker only:
Go to Content > Speakers.
Open the speaker you want to edit.
Go to the Media step.
Upload your image in the Primary Promo Image field.
Save your changes.
How HeySummit chooses which image to use
For your event landing page, HeySummit uses your uploaded Primary Promo Image if you have one. Otherwise, it uses the generated event promo image.
For talk and speaker pages, HeySummit checks for an individual custom image first, then the global Speaker/Talk Promo Image, then the generated promo image.
After you change a promo image, social media platforms may still show the old image until their cache refreshes. This cache is controlled by the social platform, so it can take a little while for the new image to appear everywhere.
