How Zoom attendance stats sync to HeySummit

Written by Benjamin Dell

HeySummit can import attendance data from Zoom for talks connected to Zoom Webinar or Zoom Meeting. This helps fill in attendance activity even when an attendee joins through Zoom directly rather than clicking the HeySummit Join Now button.

After an eligible Zoom talk ends, HeySummit attempts to sync Zoom participant records for talks that ended roughly 4 to 8 hours ago and have not already been synced. The wait gives Zoom time to make post-session participant data available.

When Zoom returns participant records, HeySummit matches participants to attendees by email address and logs broadcast attendance for matching attendees. The synced activity then refreshes the talk's cached attendance count and average attendance duration.

You can review these metrics in Reports > Talk Reports and Reports > Content Insights.

If a Zoom session has been deleted, Zoom has not made the report available, or a participant's Zoom email does not match their HeySummit attendee email, some attendance records may not be matched automatically. In those cases, use Zoom's own report as the source record for the session.
