Understand focused content mode

Written by Jerica

Focused content mode is a header style HeySummit uses when a page is showing a broadcast, replay, or video in the header area. It helps the video or featured content stand out by using the event's Content Mode theme colours for the header, navigation links, buttons, logo treatment, and nearby text.

When focused content mode appears

Focused content mode can appear on content pages such as talks, stages, speakers, sponsors, venues, or other pages where HeySummit displays video or broadcast content in the header.

Change the focused content mode colours

  1. Open the Theme Editor.

  2. Go to Page > Content Mode.

  3. Adjust the header background, button, active navigation, and text colours for content mode.

By default, HeySummit uses the Content Mode header background to generate a contrasting palette for header navigation and buttons while the page is in focused content mode.

Use your normal header styling instead

If you want focused content mode to match the normal event header, set Page > Content Mode > Header Background Colour to the same colour as Page > Header > Header Background Colour. When those colours match, HeySummit uses the standard header link and button styles instead of generating the focused content palette.

Text over page header graphics

If a focused content page uses a page header graphic and the text needs more contrast, adjust the Content Mode text colour in the Theme Editor.
