Understand Content Insights for attendee engagement

Written by Holly

Content Insights helps you understand how attendees engage with your event content. Open Content & Schedule > Reports > Content Insights to review attendance, category, media-download and perk-redemption trends. The widgets depend on your event setup, available data and plan access.

Content Insights report and Session Attendance and Stage Attendance tabs

Attendance insights

When attendance insights are available, the report has Session Attendance and Stage Attendance tabs. HeySummit defaults to the tab with available live-attendance data. You can switch tabs to compare sessions and stages.

  • Live Views and Replay Views show recorded attendance by day.

  • Unique Views (Live) and Unique Views (Replay) count attendance records for the selected content type. A person who watches several sessions can count once for each session. Stage attendance counts separately for each stage date. These totals are not a count of distinct people across the entire event.

  • Avg. Duration (Live) and Avg. Duration (Replay) show average recorded attendance duration in minutes.

Event attendance

The Event Attendance summary shows broadcast, replay and either-type attendance as a percentage of active attendees. It counts distinct attendees within sessions and within stages, then adds those counts. Someone who attended both a session and a stage can therefore count twice. Percentages are capped at 100%, so use this summary as an engagement signal rather than a deduplicated event audience total.

Other content signals

  • Top Categories shows registration interest by session category, with a shortcut to the matching attendee list.

  • Top Media Downloads shows the media files with the most recorded downloads.

  • Top Perk Redemptions shows the perks, offers or freebies with the most recorded redemptions.

Use these signals to compare interest in topics and resources, see whether engagement is live or after the event, and decide which content to promote.
