Translate your event site

Choose the event's default language, customise customer-facing system wording, and understand attendee language preferences.

There are two organiser controls for language in HeySummit: Localisation sets the event's default language, while Content Translations lets you replace individual customer-facing system phrases for this event.

Choose the event's default language

  1. Go to Event Setup > Settings.

  2. Find Localisation and choose Update.

  3. Choose the Language you want HeySummit to use as the event default, then save the form.

Customise individual phrases

  1. Go to Content > Translations.

  2. Use the search field or the group filter, such as Top Navigation, Landing Page, Tickets, or Checkout, to find a phrase.

  3. Enter the wording you want for this event and choose Save beside that phrase.

  4. Repeat for each phrase you want to override. The page's Current Language card also links back to the Localisation form.

What attendees can choose

Signed-in attendees can choose a language from the Language control in their event user menu. Event default returns them to the language selected in Localisation, and their chosen preference is used for public event pages.

What these settings do not translate

Changing the default language or a system phrase does not automatically rewrite organiser-authored content such as page text, talk titles, or speaker biographies. Translate that content separately where needed. If a language or phrase you need is not available, use Register Interest on the Content Translations screen or contact [email protected].
