Troubleshoot a HeySummit connection in Zapier

Fix Unauthorized or Not Authenticated errors by testing and reconnecting the saved HeySummit app connection in Zapier.

Written by Benjamin Dell

If Zapier shows Unauthorized or Not Authenticated, its saved HeySummit connection can no longer access the account or event needed by the Zap. Test and reconnect that saved connection before creating a replacement.

Test and reconnect the connection

  1. Sign in to HeySummit as the account owner or a team member who can access the event you want to use. A speaker-only or attendee-only login cannot connect organiser data.

  2. In Zapier, open the Connections page and find the HeySummit connection used by the Zap.

  3. Open the connection's menu and select Test connection. If the test fails, select Reconnect app and complete the HeySummit sign-in and approval flow again.

  4. Return to the Zap, retry the affected step, and reselect the event or fields if Zapier asks you to refresh them.

If the error continues

  • Confirm you reconnected with the intended HeySummit email address and that the user can open the event dashboard.

  • Confirm the HeySummit account has an active paid subscription. API and no-code automation access is not available on trialing or inactive accounts.

  • Reconnect the existing app connection deliberately: Zapier applies the reconnected account to every Zap and other Zapier product that uses that saved connection.

Zapier's current connection controls are explained in Manage your app connections. If the connection still fails, email [email protected] with the event name, the HeySummit email address used, the exact error, and a screenshot. Do not send a password or API token.
