Troubleshoot a webinar host connection

Written by Benjamin Dell

If HeySummit cannot connect to a webinar provider, reconnect the affected webinar host from HeySummit before changing settings in the provider account.

Reconnect the webinar host

  1. Open Event Setup > Webinar Hosts.

  2. Find the affected host and check its status. HeySummit shows whether the host is active, not connected, or has an error.

  3. Select Reconnect for the provider and sign in with the provider account that should own the connection.

  4. Complete the provider's authorization steps, then return to HeySummit and confirm the host shows as active.

If the connection window does not open or complete

  • Start from your event's HeySummit subdomain rather than its custom domain. The Webinar Hosts page provides a link when it detects the custom-domain version.

  • Allow pop-ups and cookies for HeySummit and the provider during the connection.

  • Temporarily disable a browser extension only if it is blocking the authorization window, then turn it back on after reconnecting.

  • Make sure you are signing in to the intended provider account and that you have permission to authorize integrations for it.

If reconnecting does not fix the problem

Check the error shown beside the host. If it returns after a successful reconnect, contact [email protected] and include the provider name, the affected host, and the exact error message. Do not send passwords or API credentials.
