You're using Vimeo to upload your pre-recorded talks to your HeySummit page. However, you're having trouble getting your videos to play on HeySummit and want to make sure your privacy settings are correct.

Please note, that if you have set a Vimeo video on your landing page to autoplay, then some browsers (Safari in particular) can create issues. For usability reasons, some browsers will block videos from playing automatically when the page loads. In the case of Safari, this can result in the video losing its thumbnail until the play button is pressed. If you would like to avoid this situation, we recommend turning autoplay off.

We recommend the following privacy settings for your Vimeo videos that you want to show on HeySummit:

  1. Who can watch? - 'Hide from vimeo.com'

  2. Where can this be embedded? - 'heysummit.com'

Your embed settings mustn't be set to 'Private' in Vimeo, or the video won't be able to play for your attendees on HeySummit and you'll see this:

Don't forget to check that the video is playing correctly on HeySummit by previewing the session page. It might be that you have the wrong video ID or URL entered in your video settings or replay settings. Check out this help doc to locate the ID of your Vimeo videos.
