Use this guide when you want to add a Vimeo-hosted recording to a HeySummit talk, replay, speaker video, sponsor video, or another video field that asks for a Vimeo video ID.

In most HeySummit video fields, you can paste either the full Vimeo URL or the video ID. HeySummit will try to normalize common Vimeo URL formats for you.

Open the video in Vimeo and copy the URL from your browser or from Vimeo's share options. A normal Vimeo video URL usually looks like this:

If you prefer to enter only the ID, use the number at the end of the URL:

If your Vimeo video is set to Unlisted, Vimeo adds a privacy hash to the URL. Vimeo requires that hash for unlisted embeds and shared links to work.

For example, Vimeo URLs for an unlisted video may look like either of these:

In HeySummit, paste the full URL or enter the ID and hash together like this:

Do not use only the first number for an unlisted video, because the embedded player may not be able to load without the hash.

If you choose Embed Code as the video source in HeySummit, copy the full iframe embed code from Vimeo instead of entering a Vimeo ID. In Vimeo, open the video's share or embed options, then copy the embed code.

First, check that the Vimeo URL or ID includes the privacy hash when the video is unlisted. Then check the video's Vimeo privacy and embed settings to make sure it can be embedded on your event site.
