Crowdcast is not a separate native HeySummit broadcast provider. If you want attendees to open the Crowdcast event directly, add the Crowdcast attendee link to your talk using External URL. If you want Crowdcast to appear inside the HeySummit talk page, use the separate Crowdcast embed guidance instead.
Add the Crowdcast link
Create the event in Crowdcast and copy the attendee event URL.
From your HeySummit dashboard, go to Content & Schedule > Sessions.
Open Actions for the talk, then choose Manage Session.
Open Broadcast and set Broadcast Type to External URL.
Paste the Crowdcast attendee URL into the field.
Select Save and Close.
When the session is available, attendees use its join button to open the external page. The link opens in a new tab; it does not embed the provider’s room.
Before going live
Test the attendee flow so you know whether Crowdcast asks attendees to register, sign in, or confirm access before joining.
Join early so the host and speakers can test microphone, camera, screen sharing, and permissions.
Remember that External URL talks send attendees away from the HeySummit talk page.
Crowdcast requires its own registration or sign-in. A HeySummit registration does not register attendees with Crowdcast. Test the normal session page with an existing authorised attendee as well as checking organiser preview. Organiser preview can bypass HeySummit ticket checks; it does not prove that an attendee has access to the external service.
