Use Twitch with a HeySummit talk

Written by Benjamin Dell

You can use Twitch with HeySummit in two ways: embed a Twitch Live stream on the HeySummit talk page, or send attendees to Twitch using Send to an External URL.

Embed a Twitch Live stream in HeySummit

  1. Create or prepare your Twitch stream.

  2. Copy your Twitch channel URL, or note the channel name.

  3. From your HeySummit dashboard, go to Content > Talks.

  4. Open the ... menu for the talk, then choose Manage Talk.

  5. When asked how you would like to broadcast the talk, choose Live Stream.

  6. Choose Twitch Live.

  7. Paste the Twitch channel URL or channel name into the stream field.

  8. Click Save.

When the talk is live, HeySummit embeds the Twitch player on the talk page.

Send attendees to Twitch instead

If you want attendees to leave HeySummit and watch directly on Twitch, choose Send to an External URL and paste the Twitch URL there instead.

Use a Twitch recording as a replay

For a replay or pre-recorded video, choose Twitch as the recorded-video source and paste the Twitch video URL or video ID.

Before going live

  • Preview the HeySummit talk after saving the stream details.

  • Start a test stream before the event so you can check the embedded player and attendee flow.

  • Check any Twitch privacy, channel, or embed restrictions that may affect playback.
