You can use Twitch with HeySummit in two ways: embed a Twitch Live stream on the HeySummit talk page, or send attendees to Twitch using External URL.
Embed a Twitch Live stream in HeySummit
Create or prepare your Twitch stream.
Copy your Twitch channel URL, or note the channel name.
From your HeySummit dashboard, go to Content & Schedule > Sessions.
Open Actions for the talk, then choose Manage Session.
Open Broadcast and set Broadcast Type to Live broadcast.
Choose Twitch Live.
Paste the Twitch channel URL or channel name into the stream field.
Select Save and Close.
When the talk is live, HeySummit embeds the Twitch player on the talk page.
Send attendees to Twitch instead
If you want attendees to leave HeySummit and watch directly on Twitch, choose External URL and paste the Twitch URL there instead.
Use a Twitch recording as a replay
For a pre-recorded broadcast, choose Pre-recorded > Twitch on Broadcast. For a replay, open Replay, enable the planned replay and choose Twitch. Paste the recording’s full Twitch video URL or video ID, then select Save and Close. Use a recording URL, not the live channel name.
Before going live
Preview the HeySummit talk after saving the stream details.
Plan a test before the event, remembering that starting a Twitch stream can make it publicly available.
Check that the stream or recording is available to the intended audience and test playback on your event’s actual HTTPS domain.
HeySummit supplies the current page’s hostname to Twitch’s embedded player. Twitch also applies minimum-size and visibility requirements to autoplay; browser restrictions can still require a click to play. Review Twitch’s embedding requirements. Use organiser Preview to check the player or layout, then check the normal session page separately with an existing authorised attendee. Organiser preview can bypass HeySummit ticket checks. The external provider’s access rules still apply.
