HeySummit does not have a separate native LinkedIn Live provider. You can still use LinkedIn Live with a talk by embedding a player on the HeySummit talk page, or by sending attendees to the LinkedIn Live event or post.
Before you start
LinkedIn Live access is controlled by LinkedIn. Review LinkedIn's current Live access, scheduling, and streaming-tool requirements before planning the session. LinkedIn also requires a third-party broadcast tool or RTMP workflow to send the stream to LinkedIn. Set that up in LinkedIn and your chosen broadcast tool before adding the stream to HeySummit.
Embed LinkedIn Live in HeySummit
Start by setting up the LinkedIn Live event or post and the third-party broadcast tool you plan to use.
On desktop, open the public LinkedIn post, choose More > Embed this post, then Copy code. If available, choose Embed video only. Only posts shared as Public or Anyone can be embedded.
In HeySummit, go to Content & Schedule > Sessions.
Open Actions for the session, then choose Manage Session.
Open Broadcast and choose Live broadcast.
Choose Embed Code and paste the complete trusted snippet in Paste your Custom Embed code.
Select Save and Close.
Use this option only when the embed code renders a live player that attendees can watch from the HeySummit talk page.
Send attendees to LinkedIn instead
If you want attendees to watch directly on LinkedIn, or if you do not have a reliable embed code, choose External URL in HeySummit and paste the LinkedIn Live event or post URL.
Before going live
Preview the HeySummit talk page after saving the embed code or external URL.
Check that the LinkedIn Live event or post is visible to the audience you expect.
Plan a test with your broadcast tool before the session, allowing for the fact that starting a stream can publish it to LinkedIn.
See LinkedIn’s current embed instructions and Live getting-started guide. If the original LinkedIn post is deleted, its embed also stops being available. External URL opens the audience page in a new tab. Use organiser Preview to check the player or layout, then check the normal session page separately with an existing authorised attendee. Organiser preview can bypass HeySummit ticket checks. The external provider’s access rules still apply.
