HeySummit does not have a separate native Dacast provider. You can still use Dacast with a talk by embedding a Dacast player on the HeySummit talk page, or by sending attendees to a Dacast share link.
Embed Dacast in HeySummit
Create or prepare the live stream in Dacast.
Open the Dacast channel or video’s General tab and copy the full embed code from Sharing.
In HeySummit, go to Content & Schedule > Sessions.
Open Actions for the session, then choose Manage Session.
Open Broadcast and choose Live broadcast.
Choose Embed Code and paste the complete trusted Dacast snippet in Paste your Custom Embed code.
Select Save and Close.
Use this option when you want attendees to watch the Dacast player on the HeySummit talk page.
Send attendees to Dacast instead
If you want attendees to watch directly on Dacast, copy the Dacast share link and choose External URL in HeySummit.
Before going live
Preview the HeySummit talk after saving the embed code or external URL.
Plan a test of the player or share link, allowing for the fact that starting a stream can publish it.
Check any Dacast privacy, paywall, domain, or player restrictions that could affect playback on the HeySummit talk page.
Dacast provides iframe and JavaScript embed options. If website referral restrictions are enabled, follow Dacast’s guidance on using its JavaScript code rather than assuming an iframe will work. See Dacast’s embed guide. External URL opens the audience share page in a new tab. Use organiser Preview to check the player or layout, then check the normal session page separately with an existing authorised attendee. Organiser preview can bypass HeySummit ticket checks. The external provider’s access rules still apply.
