Do you need a webinar platform to use HeySummit?

Written by Benjamin Dell

You may need a separate webinar, meeting, livestream, or video-hosting account depending on the type of sessions you want to run. HeySummit manages the event around your content, but it does not provide the underlying webinar room or video hosting itself.

For live talks

Use a separate webinar or meeting provider when you want to run live talks. You can connect supported providers through Webinar Platform Hosts, or you can send attendees to an external URL or embedded livestream that you manage yourself. Current native Webinar Platform Host options include Zoom Webinar, Zoom Meeting, BigMarker, LiveWebinar, Remo, GoToWebinar, and Webex. The options shown in your dashboard are the best source of truth because provider availability and account requirements can change.

For pre-recorded talks and replays

Use a video host or embed source for pre-recorded talks and replays. For example, you might use YouTube, Vimeo, Bunny.net, Wistia, or another supported video source, then add the video URL, ID, or embed code to the talk in HeySummit.

What attendees need

Attendees usually do not need separate webinar provider accounts. They register for your event in HeySummit and join sessions through the HeySummit event experience, unless you deliberately send them to an external URL.
