If speaker import is available on your plan, you can upload a CSV to create or update multiple speaker records at once. This is useful when your team already keeps speaker details in a spreadsheet.
Go to Content > Speakers, click Add, then choose Import speakers. If import is not available on your plan, HeySummit will show an upgrade message instead.
The import modal includes a downloadable CSV template. Use it as a guide, or upload your own CSV and map each column to a HeySummit speaker field.
Which speaker fields can be imported?
First name and last name are required. Email address is optional, but strongly recommended because it lets HeySummit match a later import to the same speaker account.
You can also map optional fields such as URL slug, name prefix, name suffix, company, company title, local timezone, expert credentials, bio, company URL, and social profile URLs for X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
If a speaker is imported without an email address, HeySummit cannot reliably match that row to the same speaker later. Re-uploading the same CSV may create duplicate speaker records instead of updating the existing ones.
Invite emails
During import, you can choose whether to send invite/sign-in emails to new speakers. This option applies to the import as a whole; you cannot send the invite to only a few selected rows from the same CSV import.
If you only want to invite some speakers, leave Send invite/sign-in email to new Speakers? turned off during import, then send login details manually afterward.
What happens after importing
Imported speakers are created as speaker records in your event. After the import has processed, you can review the import summary from the reporting area if any rows could not be imported.
Speaker media is not imported from the CSV. To add a headshot, logo, promo image, additional images, or intro video, open the speaker record and use the Media tab.
Talks are managed separately from speaker imports. After importing speakers, create or import talks and link the relevant speakers to each talk.
Only active speaker records that are linked to visible event content will appear publicly on your event site.
