Copy Speakers and Talks Across Events with Bulk Actions

Written by Jerica

Speakers and talks can be copied between events using bulk actions. This is useful when you run repeat events, re-use common sessions, or want to bring returning speakers into a new event without entering everything again.

To copy speakers or talks:

  1. Go to Content > Speakers or Content > Talks.

  2. Select one or more records from the list.

  3. Choose Copy to Another Event from the bulk actions drop-down.

  4. Choose the target event and confirm the copy.

The target event list includes other active events you can manage, excluding the event you are copying from.

After you confirm, HeySummit sends the selected records to a background queue. The copy normally finishes within a few minutes, and you will see a confirmation message that the selected speakers or talks have been queued.

When you copy speakers, HeySummit creates new speaker records in the target event using the copied speaker details and media. Event-specific communication state, such as previous contact dates and sent-login markers, is reset for the new event.

When you copy talks, HeySummit also copies the linked speakers into the target event first, then creates the talk copy and reconnects matching speakers and categories where possible. Event-specific live setup and performance data, such as webinar IDs, join URLs, attendee counts, views, comments, votes, and reminder-send history, is reset so the copied talk can be configured cleanly for the new event.

If you want to copy an entire event rather than selected speakers or talks, use the Clone Event option in the Manage drop-down at the top right of the event dashboard.
