What is Pre-Registration?

Written by Benjamin Dell

Pre-registration lets people leave their email address before your event is published. It is useful when you want to collect early interest from visitors who already have your event link, but you are not ready to open full registration or ticket checkout yet.

When someone pre-registers, HeySummit creates an attendee record with the status Pre-Registered. They have not completed registration, selected tickets, or registered for talks yet.

New events include a pre-registration form on the Coming Soon page by default. To turn it off, edit the Coming Soon page in the page builder and remove the Pre-Registration CTA component.

Visitors can use the form on your Coming Soon page while the event is still in draft mode. They will need the event link to reach that page before the event is published.

You can view pre-registered attendees in Reporting > Attendees. They are included in the main attendee report and can be identified by their Pre-Registered registration status.

Pre-registered attendees do not receive the normal HeySummit attendee emails until they complete registration. If you want to contact them before registration opens, export them from the attendee report or email them through your own email provider.

When you are ready to open the full event site, see How to Publish (or un-publish) Your Summit Page.
