Choose how people register for your event

Compare HeySummit registration, checkout, and post-registration options before choosing a setup.

Written by Benjamin Dell

HeySummit gives you several ways to send people into registration or checkout. Choose the path based on where visitors start, whether the ticket is free or paid, and whether HeySummit or another system should handle registration.

Choose the registration path

  • Use your normal HeySummit event site when visitors should browse your event and choose from the tickets you make available. Start by setting up tickets for your event.

  • Use a direct checkout link when a campaign, private offer, or custom page should send someone straight to one specific ticket, add-on, or donation. The normal availability, payment, and checkout rules still apply.

  • Embed a registration form when you want people to register for a free ticket without leaving your own website. Use the full HeySummit event page or a micro-site when you need paid tickets, add-ons, or donations.

  • Use a registration micro-site when you want a focused HeySummit registration and payment experience that you can link to from your own website.

  • Use a custom checkout URL when another system handles registration. HeySummit's standard register and book-now actions will send visitors to that external URL instead of the HeySummit checkout flow.

Change checkout or what happens afterwards

  • Use Checkout Playbooks when you want to shorten a free-ticket signup, send registration to an external checkout, or tailor the post-checkout experience. These controls change how people enter checkout or what they see after registration.

  • Use a custom confirmation page or redirect when you want to control what attendees see after a successful registration or purchase. You can use one event-wide external thank-you URL, a HeySummit confirmation page for a specific ticket, or a ticket-level external redirect.

Before you choose

  • Some registration and checkout options depend on your HeySummit plan. If a control is disabled or unavailable, check the message shown in your event dashboard.

  • The embedded registration form requires a published event and at least one active free ticket.

  • Test the complete path as an attendee before sharing it. Confirm the ticket, required questions, payment step, talk or venue selection, confirmation page, and any redirect behave as expected.
