Greater Control with Talk-Level Interactive Settings

Written by Jerica

Talk-level interactive settings let you override your event-wide chat, Q&A, and polling defaults for a specific talk. This is useful when one session should be fully interactive while another should run as a quieter, presentation-only broadcast.

To adjust these settings, go to Content > Talks, open the talk, and choose Advanced Settings. In the interactive settings area, switch from Use event defaults to Override event defaults.

From there, you can:

  • Turn interactive features on or off for the talk

  • Hide or show the Chat tab

  • Hide or show the Q&A tab

  • Hide or show the Polls tab

  • Require Q&A approval for that talk

If you leave the override switched off, the talk inherits the event-level settings from Setup > Talk Experience. These controls require the live chat/interactive features available on your plan; if the feature is not available, the fields are disabled.
