A public event lets visitors view and attend your event without registering first. Use this when you want the event to be openly available and you do not need to collect attendee email addresses through HeySummit registration.
Turn on public event mode
In your event dashboard, go to Event Setup.
Open Registration & Checkout Settings.
Set the registration status to Public.
Save your changes.
What changes for attendees
When an event is public, attendees do not need to complete the normal registration flow before viewing available event content. Because HeySummit is not collecting an attendee record up front, registration-only features may not apply in the same way.
Chat and comments
Broadcast chat and comments are disabled for public events. This helps prevent spam and abuse because public visitors can access the event without registering first.
If you need attendee records, ticket access, attendee email collection, or interactive attendee-only features, keep registrations open instead of using public event mode.
