If you produce your session in StreamYard, one way to show it inside HeySummit is to stream from StreamYard to YouTube, then embed the YouTube Live video on your HeySummit talk or stage.
This is useful when you are not using StreamYard's own embeddable On-Air webinar option, or when you already want your live stream to run through YouTube.
Before you start
Your YouTube channel must have live streaming enabled. YouTube says first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours.
Your StreamYard account must be able to stream to the YouTube channel you want to use.
If you are connecting a YouTube channel to StreamYard, StreamYard says you must be the channel owner or a manager/owner of a Brand Account.
Step 1: Enable YouTube live streaming
Open YouTube Studio and go to your live dashboard.
Follow YouTube's prompts to verify your channel and enable live streaming.
Wait until YouTube confirms that live streaming is enabled before you schedule your event stream.
Official YouTube guidance: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Step 2: Connect YouTube in StreamYard
In StreamYard, open Destinations.
Choose Add a destination, then choose YouTube Channel.
Sign in to the Google account that owns or manages the YouTube channel and approve the connection.
Official StreamYard guidance: Connect a YouTube Channel.
Step 3: Create the StreamYard broadcast
In StreamYard, create a new live stream.
Choose your connected YouTube channel as the destination.
Add the title, date, time, and any other StreamYard settings you need.
Create the broadcast, then open the related YouTube video or scheduled live stream.
Step 4: Add the YouTube Live video to HeySummit
In HeySummit, edit the talk or stage broadcast settings.
Choose Live Stream.
Choose YouTube Live as the live stream source.
Paste the YouTube video URL or the video ID. For example, if the URL is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abc123, the video ID is abc123.
Optionally turn on Auto-embed Stream Chat if you want HeySummit to embed YouTube chat under the video player instead of using HeySummit's own chat experience.
Save the broadcast settings and test the attendee view before your event starts.
Common issues
Do not paste the StreamYard Studio link into HeySummit's YouTube Live field. HeySummit needs the YouTube video URL or video ID.
If YouTube says live streaming is not enabled, complete YouTube's verification flow and wait until the channel is approved.
If StreamYard cannot connect to the YouTube channel, confirm that the Google account has the required channel ownership or Brand Account manager/owner access.
If you want to use StreamYard's own embeddable webinar instead of YouTube, check StreamYard's current On-Air webinar and embed documentation, then use HeySummit's Streamyard live-stream source with the StreamYard watch URL or ID.
