Where offers, giveaways, and freebies appear

Written by Benjamin Dell

Offers, giveaways, and freebies are all managed from Marketing > Offers & Giveaways. In HeySummit, a freebie is an offer that is free to redeem. Where a perk appears depends on its type, attribution, linked talk or speaker, ticket restrictions, and whether you choose to hide it from the main perks list.

Main Perks page

When you create at least one visible offer, giveaway, freebie, or custom perk group, HeySummit can show a public Perks page for the event. By default, the Perks page groups perks into tabs such as Exclusive Offers, Prize Draw Giveaways, Freebies, and any custom groups you create. If your perks page is configured to show all perks in one list, HeySummit combines those groups into a single list instead. If you turn on Hide From Main Perk List? for a perk, it will not appear on the main Perks page. It can still appear on linked talk, speaker, or sponsor pages when those links apply.

Talk pages and live broadcast pages

Perks linked to a talk can appear on that talk's page as Exclusive Perks. To show a promotion banner during selected sessions, open the perk's Visibility > Session promotion section in the organiser editor and select the Sessions. Choose Before the session ends or After the session starts, then enter the corresponding minutes. An offset of 0 means the scheduled end or start. The reveal time follows the scheduled clock, not each attendee's video playback. Existing promotions retain their previous end-based timing, normally 15 minutes before the end.

On talk list and replay list cards, HeySummit can show an exclusive-offer style badge when a talk has a relevant perk. For future talks, this includes any attached perk. For past/replay talks, offer perks are used for the badge.

Speaker and sponsor pages

Perks attributed directly to a speaker, or linked to a talk that includes that speaker, can appear on the speaker's public page. Offers remain visible. Session-linked giveaways appear while the latest linked session has not started yet; giveaways with no linked session are not subject to that profile-page cutoff. Perks attributed to a sponsor can appear on that sponsor's public page. Speaker list cards can show an award badge when a speaker has a direct perk. If the perk is linked only through one of their talks, the perk can still appear on the speaker page, but the speaker-list badge depends on the speaker-level perk flag.

Registration, access, and redemption

Perks can be restricted to specific tickets. When a visitor does not have access, HeySummit can show that a ticket is required instead of showing redemption details. For attendees, redemption instructions, URLs and files require completed registration and any required active ticket. Authorised organiser, presenter and sponsor roles can also access them. Giveaways are time-sensitive. Giveaways in the standard Prize Draw Giveaways tab use date cutoffs; custom groups are handled separately, and winners are generated according to the event or giveaway winner settings.
