Troubleshoot attendee magic links

Written by Benjamin Dell

If you are trying to sign in to an event and your magic link is not working, use the checks below to get back in.

1. Use the newest unused link. A magic link can only be used once. After you successfully sign in with it, that link expires. If you have requested more than one login email, open the newest email in your inbox or go back to the event sign-in page and request another link.

2. Check spam, junk, and security filtering. If the email is in spam or quarantine, mark it as not spam before using the link. Some email providers block links while a message is still flagged as suspicious.

3. Make sure the event has the right attendee email address. If the login email never arrives, ask the Event Organizer to check the email address on your attendee record. They can correct typos, try a personal email address if your work inbox is filtering the message, or generate a fresh magic link for you from their dashboard.

4. Check whether the event also allows password login. Some events allow attendees to sign in with a password as well as a magic link. If you see password options on the sign-in page, you can use I have a password, reset your password, or switch back to I don't have a password to request a magic link instead.

Magic links are intended for quick sign-in, and they also expire if they are too old. If your link says it has expired, return to the event sign-in page and request a new one.

If you are still stuck, contact the Event Organizer. They can confirm your registration, check the email address on your attendee record, and help you get a fresh sign-in link.
