Using an Event-Wide Attendee Password for Login

Written by Jerica

Magic links are the default and recommended way for attendees to log in. If you prefer to support password login, you can enable attendee passwords and optionally set one shared Event-Wide Password for the event.

If attendee passwords are enabled and no event-wide password is set, HeySummit generates a unique random password for each attendee after they complete registration. If you enter an event-wide password, completed attendees use that shared password instead.

When a new attendee completes registration and a password is created, HeySummit includes the login URL and password in the attendee welcome/registration email. You can also resend a password from the attendee record when password login is enabled.

To set this up, go to Event Setup > Settings > Registration & Checkout. In Attendee Password Support, enable attendee passwords and fill in Event-Wide Password if you want one shared password.

A shared event-wide password can be easier to communicate, but it is less secure than unique attendee passwords or magic links. It does not replace ticket, registration, or talk access rules.
