Add and organise footer links

Add custom links, actions, and column headings to your event footer.

Written by Benjamin Dell

Use Footer Links to add useful destinations to the bottom of your event site and organise them into four columns.

Current Footer Links manager with four column groups, custom and mandatory links

Open Footer Links

  1. From your event dashboard, go to Website > Header & Footer Links, then select the Footer Links tab.

  2. Select Add Link.

  3. Enter the link text. Choose Event page to create a page in HeySummit, External URL for an existing destination, or Action for a predefined action.

  4. Choose one of the four columns. For an External URL destination, decide whether the link should open in a new tab.

  5. Select Add Link to save the link.

Organise the footer

  • Use the pencil beside a column heading to give that column a custom title.

  • Drag custom links by their handle to reorder them within the same column.

  • Use a relative URL such as /schedule/ for a page on the same event site, or a full https:// URL for an external destination.

Built-in footer links

Column 4 also shows built-in links that are controlled elsewhere in HeySummit. Depending on your event settings and plan, these can include talk submissions, partner-program signup, sponsor applications, Contact Us, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy. Change the feature or setting that owns a built-in link rather than trying to delete it as a custom footer link. For more detail, see custom footer column titles, reordering footer links, and relative and absolute URLs.

Set column titles before adding links where possible. The current dashboard shows the title pencil only for empty columns. If a populated column has no pencil, contact support for help; do not delete useful links just to expose the title control.
