Use Custom Chat Script when you want to replace HeySummit's built-in chat beside a live broadcast with your own trusted HTML or JavaScript embed.
This is commonly used for third-party chat widgets, but the field can also be used for other trusted content that belongs in the chat area during the broadcast, such as an embedded community tool, announcement panel, or sponsor widget.
To add it, go to Content > Talks, open the action menu beside the talk, and choose Advanced Settings. In Interactive Features, add your code to Custom Chat Script, then save.
When a custom chat script is set, HeySummit renders that content in place of the default HeySummit chat during the live broadcast. Leave the field blank to use HeySummit's built-in interactive features instead.
Only paste code from tools you trust. This field is intended for customer-provided embeds and scripts, so test the broadcast page after saving to make sure the embed loads and fits the chat area correctly.
