If you're on the individual StreamYard plan and lack the On-Air webinar feature to embed your live StreamYard video, a workaround is to stream it to YouTube and then link it to your event. The advantage is that you can utilize this method even with a free plan.

How to Enable live streaming on YouTube

To stream your content to YouTube, you need to enable live streaming on your channel. Here's how:

1. Go to your YouTube live dashboard

2. Follow YouTube's steps to enable live streaming.

3. Once you've enabled live streaming on your YouTube channel, go back to StreamYard and reconnect. Approval for live streaming usually takes 24-48 hours.

Connect Streamyard to Youtube

According to StreamYard's guidelines, connecting to a YouTube channel requires you to be either the Owner of the channel or a Manager/Owner of a Brand account.

Additionally, channels using "Studio Permissions"/"Channel Permissions" currently do not support live streaming for anyone other than the owner.

1. Go to the StreamYard destinations page, click Add a destination and select YouTube Channel.

2. Select the account connected to the YouTube channel you want to connect.
3. Click Continue and Allow to allow StreamYard permission to your Google Account.
4. You're all set! Your YouTube channel should now successfully be connected.

For more detailed instructions from StreamYard, you can find them here.

Creating Live Stream on your StreamYard

1. Access your Streamyard account, click "Create" and select "Live stream."

2. Select Studio and choose your destination, which should be your YouTube Channel. Fill in the required details for your live stream, then click "Create live stream."

3. To adjust your video settings, simply click on "Enter Studio."

4. On your HeySummit account, choose LiveStream or URL for the broadcast type > choose Youtube and enter the video ID.

5. To get your video ID, navigate to your YouTube channel and click on the video. Your video ID is the unique string of characters that comes after "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=" In our example, it appears as "2CxNP88dbSU."

Note on Restrictions:

If you're using the free version of StreamYard, you can livestream at 720p, but if you upgrade to the paid version, you can set it to 1080p.
