Understand built-in SEO support in HeySummit

Learn which search and social metadata HeySummit adds automatically and what still depends on your content.

Written by Benjamin Dell

HeySummit adds a technical SEO foundation to public event pages, but it does not guarantee that a page will be indexed or rank for a particular search. Search engines decide when to crawl, index, and display each page.

What HeySummit adds automatically

  • Page titles and meta descriptions based on event, page, talk, speaker, or sponsor content.

  • Canonical URLs and a sitemap link so search engines can identify the preferred public address.

  • Open Graph and large-image social metadata using the relevant event, talk, speaker, sponsor, stage, or blog image.

  • Schema.org structured data for supported public event, schedule, talk, speaker, sponsor, replay, and ticket pages when the required data is available.

When pages are not offered for indexing

HeySummit sends noindex, nofollow for private events, non-primary event domains, and other pages or environments that should not appear in search. A public page on the event primary domain can use index, follow, but the search engine still makes the final indexing decision.

What you should review

  • Use a clear event title, strapline, page copy, talk titles, and speaker or sponsor descriptions.

  • Set a suitable Primary Promo Image under Event Settings > Branding & Content.

  • Review the published page on the event primary domain, not a preview or alternate domain.

  • If a social network still shows an old image, follow Refresh an outdated social link preview.
