Turn off categories if your event does not need topic-based browsing. This hides category choices in the session form and category selection during checkout, and hides the standard Categories navigation link on your public event site.
Go to Event Settings > General > Event Basics.
Scroll to Other Settings.
Turn off Categories Enabled? and select Save at the top of the page.
What to check afterwards
Review your public navigation and checkout. Existing category records are retained. Turning the setting off does not make direct category page URLs inaccessible.
If replays were grouped by category, saving with categories disabled changes that grouping to date.
Turn Categories Enabled? back on and save when you want category controls to return.
