You can use Vectera for a HeySummit talk by sending attendees to your Vectera meeting link when the session starts. HeySummit does not have a native Vectera embed. Use External URL when you want attendees to leave the HeySummit talk page and join the session in Vectera.
Set up the talk
Create or open the Vectera meeting you want to use for the session, then copy the attendee join link.
In HeySummit, go to Content & Schedule > Sessions.
Open Actions > Manage Session for the existing session.
Open Broadcast and set Broadcast Type to External URL.
Paste your Vectera link into the External URL field and select Save and Close.
What attendees experience
When the session is available, attendees use the join button on its HeySummit page to open Vectera in a new tab. Vectera may still ask them to identify themselves, enter a password or wait for the host, depending on the room settings.
Before you go live
Open the attendee link in a private browser window to check the join flow.
Check the room’s attendee access and waiting-room settings before the event.
Ask hosts and speakers to join early for a camera, microphone, and screen-share check.
If you want the video to remain embedded on the HeySummit talk page, use one of HeySummit's supported embedded live stream or pre-recorded video options instead. In a Vectera room, Invite beside Recordings provides a public room link you can copy. Use a link intended for your audience, and review the room’s waiting-room and admission settings. See Vectera’s room-link guide and waiting-room guide. Use organiser Preview to check the player or layout, then check the normal session page separately with an existing authorised attendee. Organiser preview can bypass HeySummit ticket checks. The external provider’s access rules still apply.
