Use Vectera with a HeySummit talk

Written by Benjamin Dell

You can use Vectera for a HeySummit talk by sending attendees to your Vectera meeting link when the session starts.

HeySummit does not have a native Vectera embed. Use Send to an External URL when you want attendees to leave the HeySummit talk page and join the session in Vectera.

Set up the talk

  1. Create or open the Vectera meeting you want to use for the session, then copy the attendee join link.

  2. In HeySummit, go to Content > Talks.

  3. Create a new talk or open the talk you want to update.

  4. In the broadcast options, choose Send to an External URL.

  5. Paste your Vectera link into the External URL field and save the talk.

What attendees experience

When the talk is available, attendees use the talk page in HeySummit and are sent to Vectera to join the session. Vectera may still ask them to register, identify themselves, wait for the host, or follow other room settings you configured in Vectera.

Before you go live

  • Open the attendee link in a private browser window to check the join flow.

  • If you do not want attendees to complete a separate Vectera booking or registration step, check your Vectera meeting settings before the event.

  • Ask hosts and speakers to join early for a camera, microphone, and screen-share check.

If you want the video to remain embedded on the HeySummit talk page, use one of HeySummit's supported embedded live stream or pre-recorded video options instead.
