Dynamic Tax Calculations for Event Organisers

Some organisers need sales tax or VAT to be calculated based on an attendee's location. HeySummit does not currently provide dynamic, location-specific tax calculation for event ticket purchases.

You can choose how tax is handled for paid tickets in Setup > Billing & Tax Settings. The available Sales Tax Pricing Mode options are No Sales Tax, Tax Included in Ticket Prices, and Tax Added at Checkout.

When you use Tax Added at Checkout, HeySummit uses your fixed event-level Sales Tax Rate (%) to add tax during checkout. Attendees see the pre-tax subtotal, the sales tax amount, and the final order total. Ticket prices may also display an excl. tax label where applicable.

When you use Tax Included in Ticket Prices, the ticket price remains the total price shown to the attendee, and HeySummit calculates the tax portion from your fixed event-level rate so it can be itemised during checkout and on the attendee invoice.

These settings use one fixed event-level tax rate. They do not determine the correct rate for each attendee's location, validate your tax obligations, or replace tax advice. Use the rate that is appropriate for your event and records.
